SHIMANO PD-M520 or M540,EXUSTAR E-SM100 or E-SM400

准备买锁，看了些介绍和评价，感觉SIMANO的M520或M540，EXUSTAR的E-SM100\E-SM400用的比较多，但是区别很难分辨，看了下鞋子的介绍，橡胶？尼龙？有点晕，然后M520,M540的区别也不是很了解，鞋的价格倒是差不多（随便淘宝的价格），脚踏的价格有点区别，就是不知道物品的区别

E-SM100: 390元
E-SM400: 360元

The difference is that the 520 has a protected spindle, the 540 is
naked, therefore lighter & more sexy looking. the bearings are supposed
to be better in the 540 too, but i can't tell a difference in smoothness
by hand turning them.
Getting back to the naked spindle, theoretically, if that gets damaged,
it can initiate fatigue whereas the covered one is less likely to have
that happen. example; a friend has the 959's with naked spindle. he's
somehow managed to gouge the chrome plating off a part of one spindle,
and the corrosion that's taking hold is a /real/ spectacle. a stress
riser, corrosion & cyclic loading. mmm, that failure is going to be
text book.
